Ability One Overview and Update
Please join us to learn more about about the AbilityOne program and its mission to create employment opportunities for Americans who are blind or have other significant disabilities.
Accessibility Requirements for Micro-purchases
The federal acquisition process for procuring ICT solutions is a principle opportunity to ensure the goals of Section 508 are met - meaning that we equally serve all consumers of government information. While it may be perceived as counter to acquisition processing efficiency, taking the time to properly build accessibility into acquisitions will:
- Improve customer experience
- Prevent the risk of litigation costs
- Prevent expensive retrofitting of systems, applications, and websites
- Allow those with disabilities an equal footing
